Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a 19 percent hike in the basic salaries of all contractual staff working in the three power utilities. According to an official statement, the wage hike for contractual staff of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, and Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited will be effective from March 2024. This was announced after a delegation of the contractual staff working in these companies met Mr. Fadnavis, who is also the state’s energy minister in Mumbai on Monday. Additionally, a health insurance cover of upto five lakh rupees will also be offered to all the contractual staff of these utilities.
