Maharashtra:22 dead bodies retrieved from landslide site in Raigad, says NDRF

National Disaster Response Force, NDRF has said that 22 dead bodies have been retrieved from the landslide site in Raigad, Maharashtra. In a statement, NDRF said,  four teams of the force with the canine squad and advanced equipment moved to the incident site and conducted rescue operation in coordination with State Administration, Police, and TDRF. Owing to continuous rainfall and the threat of further landslides and no live rescue apparent at this stage, Operation has been called off in consultation with local administration. It will resume early morning tomorrow.
NDRF control room is closely monitoring the situation and is in close contact with concerned authorities. Incessant rainfall triggered a massive landslide at Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil, Raigad, Maharashtra on Wednesday midnight.
