Maharashtra Leaders Congratulate Swapnil Kusale on Historic Bronze Medal Win at Paris Olympics 2024

Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Swapnil Kusale for winning the Bronze Medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event at the Paris Olympics 2024. In a message, Mr Radhakrishnan said the entire nation is proud of Kusale for bringing glory to Maharashtra and India.

 

Hailing from Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district, Swapnil Kusale has become only the second individual Olympic medal winner from Maharashtra, with the first one being wrestler Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav, who won a bronze at the 1952 Summer Olympics. 

 

 

Expressing his pride and happiness for bringing glory to the state after a gap of over 72 years, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the medal has brought excitement to the state’s sporting community. Extending his best wishes to Kusale’s family and coaching staff, Mr Shinde said the state will continue to support the athlete in all his future endeavours. 

 

 

Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also extended his best wishes to Kusale for an exemplary victory to clinch a stellar bronze. In his message, Mr. Fadnavis said Kusale’s unwavering dedication and exceptional skill have brought glory to Bharat.

 

 

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said the son of the soil has brought glory to the state and filled a new energy in the sporting community. 

 

 

Maharashtra’s Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sanjay Bansode too extended his best wishes and informed that every athlete from Maharashtra was given 50 lakh rupees to support their training.
