In Maharashtra, due to the flood-like situation created in some parts of eastern Vidarbha due to heavy rains in the last two days and the red alert of heavy to heavy rain by the Regional Metrological Department of Nagpur, the District administration and District Disaster Management Authorities of Nagpur, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts have declared holiday for all the schools colleges in their respective district for today.

 
Meanwhile, the discharge of excess water from the Gosikhurd dam along the border of Gadchiroli and Bhandara District situated on the Wainganga river, is being done through the opening of all 33 flood gates by 1 metre. Accordingly, the district administration has alerted the villages situated on the banks of this river.
