Renowned artist Laxman Shreshtha will be honoured with the Late Vasudeo Gaitonde Lifetime Achievement Award in Art by the Maharashtra government. State’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil announced on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Patil stated that Maharashtra has a rich heritage of art, and many artists from the state have earned acclaim on both national and international levels. Hailing Laxman Shreshtha’s consistent and dedicated work, he remarked that receiving this award will elevate its prestige. The Late Vasudeo Gaitonde Lifetime Achievement Award in Art is conferred by the government to eminent artists for their significant contributions to the field of visual arts.
