The Maharashtra Government has approved funding of more than 149 crore rupees for the implementation of the second phase of the Dairy Development program in all 19 districts of the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. The decision was taken during a state cabinet meeting held in Mumbai today. The scheme was earlier implemented in just 11 districts. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Maharashtra’s Minister for Dairy Development, Mr Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, said the decision will help improve the financial condition of farmers and promote the dairy industry.
