Maharashtra govt announces ₹5 Lakh ex-gratia for Mumbai-Pune Expressway accident victims  

Maharashtra Government has announced an ex-gratia of five lakh rupees for the families of those who were killed in an accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway early on Tuesday. At least five persons were killed and 46 others were injured when a tractor collided with a bus, carrying pilgrims to Pandharpur for Ashadi Ekadashi.

 

 

Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde visited the injured at MGM Hospital in Kalamboli and announced that the state would bear the cost of treatment of all the injured. He assured that quality treatment is being provided to the seven critically ill patients adding that, if needed, the government is in readiness to move the patients to city hospitals.

 

 

Considering that tractors are not allowed to run on expressways, Mr. Shinde said an inquiry will be made into the incident.
