Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais describes Maharashtra as a leader in economic growth of country

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais described the state as a leader in economic growth of the country and said Maharashtra would need to play a vital role in making India a developed nation. 
 
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais described the state as a leader in the economic growth of the country and said Maharashtra would need to play a vital role in making India a developed nation. Mr Bais was speaking today at the Maharashtra Udyog Puraskar ceremony held in Mumbai.
 
The Award which has been initiated from this year by the state government is aimed to recognize outstanding contributions to the industrial sector in Maharashtra. Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata has been awarded the first Maharashtra Udyog Ratna Award. Besides, Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla,  Kirloskar Group’s Gauri Kirloskar  and Sayadri Farm’s Vilasrao Shinde have received the Udyog Mitra, Udyogini and Utkrusht Marathi Udyojak awards respectively. Governor lauded Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata’s contribution to the Indian industry describing Mr Tata as an institution in himself.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar, and Devendra Fadnavis were present on the occasion.
