EVM-VVPAT machines will be used for the assembly constituency elections in Maharashtra. 2,26,624 Ballot Units (BUs), 1,26,911 Control Units (CUs), and 1,37,118 VVPATs will be deployed across the state. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the First Level Checking (FLC) of all these machines has been completed.
The ECI also stated that control rooms have been set up at both the state and district levels to monitor and manage election expenses throughout the Model Code of Conduct period.
Additionally, the ECI clarified that if any campaign materials are purchased before nomination and used after filing, those expenses will be included in the total election expenditure. Each candidate in the Maharashtra Assembly election is limited to an expenditure of Rs 40 lakh.
