Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the first installment of the Ladki Bahin Yojana will be released during the Rakshabandhan festival next month. He was talking to media persons in Gadchiroli district after attending a function.

Against the backdrop of the opposition’s demand to extend the cut-off date for registration of names for the financial assistance scheme beyond 15 of this month, Fadnavis said applicants who will submit forms by 31st of August would receive the installments for July and August next month. He also said that the government will ensure that no one is left out from the scheme’s ambit.

Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme, married, divorced, and destitute women aged 21-60 will receive 15 hundred rupees per month, with the annual family income of beneficiaries capped at 2.5 lakh rupees.
