Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis takes full responsibility of party’s unsatisfactory performance in state

Senior BJP leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken full responsibility for the Party’s unsatisfactory performance in the state. He offered to resign from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and said that, if Central Leadership permits, he will resign from the post. He said that, after resignation, he will be able to utilize his time for campaigning for upcoming assembly elections in the state. State BJP leadership has extended full support to Devendra Fadnavis and awaiting the decision of Central Leadership.

 

Quoting reasons for the loss, Devendra Fadnavis said, we failed to fully counter the narrative of Constitution change. Farmers’ resentment, Maratha Reservation, Anti-incumbency and lack of coordination with other parties of Mahayuti are other reasons for unsatisfactory performance, he said. While analyzing vote share of BJP in state Devendra Fadnavis said, in 2019 Party has secured around 28% votes while in 2024 party’s vote share is more than 26%. In 2019, BJP succeeded in winning 23 parliamentary seats while in 2024, BJP won 9 seats.

       

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, Unsatisfactory performance is the collective responsibility of all Mahayuti parties. But we will not be demoralized by this performance. He also assured that he will discuss with Fadnavis about his decision.
