Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis announces, proposal for promoting redevelopment of old buildings to be processed in three months

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the proposal for promoting the redevelopment of old buildings will be processed in three months.  Addressing a conference of Housing Cooperatives organized by BJP Legislative Council group leader and Mumbai Bank Chairman MLA Pravin Darekar on Wednesday (30 August 2023), Mr. Fadnavis informed that a window scheme will be launched for this purpose.

Accordingly, a government order has been issued for approval of a single window scheme to promote the redevelopment of registered cooperative housing societies in the state.

According to the order, it will be mandatory to complete all the permissions in the scheme of self-redevelopment of cooperative housing societies through single window scheme within three months from the date of receipt of the proposal. All concerned planning authorities would have to dispose of the proposals at the earliest within the given time frame. State Cooperative Bank, the apex bank in the cooperative sector, has been announced as the nodal agency for the self-redevelopment of cooperative housing societies in the state and it will work in the concerned district through the District Central Cooperative Bank.
