Maharashtra: CM Eknath Shinde reviews preparation for upcoming Dahihandi and Ganeshotsav festivals

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today reviewed the preparation for the upcoming Dahihandi and Ganeshotsav festivals in Mumbai. The Chief Minister directed the Collector, Municipal Commissioner, and other officers to ensure that roads that will used during the festivals should be repaired immediately. All District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, and District Police Chiefs of the State participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
 
The Chief Minister also asked officials to resolve issues like electricity connections that the Ganesh mandaps may face. He further said that the branches of the trees should be pruned. He directed the Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation to ensure that all roads and alleys in Mumbai are clean.
 
This year, around 75 thousand Govindas have been given insurance cover by the State government and the Chief Minister also gave directions to provide insurance cover to the remaining Govindas. The Chief Minister made an appeal to celebrate the festivals in an eco-friendly manner. He asked everyone for their cooperation in maintaining law and order in the state during the festivals.
