In the wake of the Maharashtra assembly elections, campaigns of key leaders from all major political parties are ongoing throughout the state. BJP President JP Nadda said in a public meeting held in Thane today that the BJP has empowered the defence sector, increased the internal security of the country and effectively fought terrorism.
At a rally in Umrkhed, Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress, claiming the party failed to fulfil promises made in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana. He emphasized that Prime Minister Modi’s promises are sacrosanct. Shah also stated that Modi is determined to amend the Waqf Board law despite opposition from Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule.
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, addressing a campaign in Ashti accused Congress of spreading false propaganda about the BJP intending to alter the Constitution drafted by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis also campaigned in Satara, Sangli and Pune.
On the other hand, speaking at a rally in Sangli, NCP(SP) Chief Sharad Pawar today claimed that the BJP wants to change the constitution and like-minded parties have together under the MVA umbrella to oppose this. Shiv Sena UBT Chief Uddhav Thackery was campaigning in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, where he hit out at the ruling NDA and Mahayuti government over the low Minimum Support Price of Soybean. He assured that the MVA would increase the MSP of Soybean if the alliance is voted to power.
