Around 40 students studying in Class V and VI of Sahakar Vidya Prasarak Mandal School in Kalwa in Thane district of Maharashtra fell ill after consuming lunch from a mid-day meal programme. All these students are undergoing treatment at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital of Thane Municipal Corporation and their condition is said to be stable. The children exhibited symptoms of giddiness, nausea, headache, and abdominal pain and were immediately rushed to the hospital. Medical officials confirmed they are out of danger. Authorities have collected food samples for testing, and both civic officials and local police are investigating the incident.
