Madhya Pradesh Deputy CM, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the state’s budget for fiscal year 2024–25

In Madhya Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the 3 lakh 65 thousand 067 crore rupees budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 in the state assembly today amid sloganeering and chaos of opposition. This budget marks the first under the current BJP-led state government. No new tax has been imposed in the budget, and it is 16 per cent higher than the previous financial year. Talking to media persons, Mr Devda said that the budget is designed to cater to every segment of society, encompassing women, youth, farmers, and the underprivileged. He said that the government has paid special attention to areas like health, education, and infrastructure development. For the upgrade of roads, Rs 900 crore has been allotted, the finance minister said. He added that for sports, the government has allotted Rs 568 crore. For health centres, the BJP government will spend Rs 21,144 crore. Five districts to get Ayurveda hospitals, the finance minister said. Mr Devda said that for the ‘CM Ladli Behna Yojana’ and ‘CM-Laxmi Yojana’, the government has sanctioned Rs 36,560 crore.
