Former Vice Chief of Army Staff and Colonel Commandant of the Bombay Sappers, Lt. Gen. S Pattabhiraman, passed away yesterday at the Military Hospital, Wellington in the Nilgiris District. He was 78.

He was admitted for breathing difficulties for the past few days. His last rites were conducted with full military honours today.
