The Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra, S. Chockalingam informed that applications of 110 out of 181 candidates were found to be valid for the five constituencies in the scrutiny of the candidature applications for the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections.
Constituency wise the number of valid candidates are Nagpur- 26 out of 53, Bhandara-Gondia- 22 out of 40, Gadchiroli-Chimur- 12 out of 12, Chandrapur- 15 out of 35 and in Ramtek Lok Sabha Constituency 35 out of 41 candidates have been valid.
The date for withdrawal of nominations in five constituencies in the first phase is 30 March 2024 and polling for these constituencies will be held on 19 April.
