Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, along with various dignitaries, arrived in Aizawl on Thursday to attend the 21st Annual Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), India Region, Zone-III, scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

They were received at the Lengpui Airport by Mizoram Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama, Deputy Speaker Lalfamkima, Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha, and other officials.

Lok Sabha Speaker will inaugurate the newly established Archive Cell at the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Library, followed by the commencement of the CPA Annual Conference.

Mizoram assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama will deliver a welcome address, followed by the keynote speech by Nagaland Speaker and CPA Zone-III Chairman Sharingain Longkumer. Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh and State Chief Minister Lalduhoma, will also address the gathering.

The annual conference brings together legislative leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the nation, aims to foster collaboration, exchange best practices, and address pressing legislative challenges.
