Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla says India emerged as voice of peace and restraint in the world during recent G20 Summit in New Delhi

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that India emerged as a voice of peace and restraint in the world during G20 Summit which was held in New Delhi. Mr Birla said that India has been the voice of the Global South and under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the African Union became a permanent member of the G20.

Making his reference in the House on the first day of the start of the five-day Special Parliament Session, the Lok Sabha Speaker lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary' leadership for the success of the G20 Summit. Congratulating the nation on the successful organisation of the G20 Summit, the Lok Sabha Speaker said that the success of this event has filled every Indian with pride. Mr. Birla emphasised that India’s G20 Presidency has been inclusive, ambitious, decisive, and action-oriented. He said that under the leadership of Mr  Modi, the New Delhi Leaders’ declaration during the Summit was unanimously accepted by the leaders of the world and consensus was also evolved on the sensitive issues.
