Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that the outgoing 17th Lok Sabha will be known for its landmark legislations including passing of Women Reservation Bill, abolition of triple talaq and Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita Bills. Speaking exclusively to Akashvani News in New Delhi today, Mr. Birla recalled his five-year tenure saying these legislations will take the nation forward and bring positive changes. He also said that the discussions and debates during the 17th Lok Sabha will work as a roadmap for building Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The Lok Sabha Speaker said, special arrangements are underway to welcome newly elected Lok Sabha MPs in Parliament. On the completion of one year of the new Parliament building, Mr. Birla highlighted that the new building was built in a very short time and it has been equipped with modern facilities and new technologies. He said that the Parliament premises are being developed as environment-friendly, with plant species from different states being used. Mr. Birla also talked about the one-year journey of new parliament building highlighting passage of historical legislations.
