Star campaigners of various political parties campaigned for their party candidates in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi addressed a political rally in favour of the party candidate in Ghazipur. He said that Congress is an expert in delaying work and usurping people’s rights and added that they did not even allow our brave army soldiers to get the benefit of One Rank, One Pension. The One Rank, One Pension was implemented when the NDA government came. He further promised that the reservations of SC, ST and OBC will not be affected at any cost.
Targeting the Samajwadi Party, PM Modi said that during the SP government, crime was at its peak in the state, but in the Yogi government, the state is now known for taking strict action against rioters and anti-social elements. There is a sense of security among the people of Uttar Pradesh today. The PM highlighted that in the last 10 years, the government played an important role in taking 25 crore people out of the poverty line. Poor people got houses, toilets, electricity, and LPG gas connection, and 5 kg of food grains free of cost.
The Prime Minister will stay in Varanasi tonight, and tomorrow he will address three more rallies in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and senior BJP leader Yogi Adityanath addressed a public meeting in Salempur, Ballia, Ghazipur and Chandauli in favor of party candidates today. CM Yogi said that in the last 10 years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, terrorism and Naxalism has been eliminated. Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati addressed a public meeting in Gorakhpur. The BSP leader criticised the Congress for its wrong policies, which led to its downfall. She also attacked the BJP for supporting capitalists and rich people while ignoring the poor. She criticised the central government for attempting to secure votes by distributing free rations. Further slamming the Samajwadi Party, Mayawati pointed out that during its rule in Uttar Pradesh, the reservation for SC/ST people in promotions was abolished.
On the other hand, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and wife of Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav held a road show in Varanasi in favor of the party candidate. Earlier in the day, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav addressed a public meeting in Gorakhpur. Priyanka Gandhi said that due to the wrong policies of the NDA government at the Centre, inflation and unemployment have increased in the country, due to which common people are facing problems. She said that the Modi government claims to be well-wishers of the farmers, but does not even talk about loan waiver of the farmers. SP President Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the election atmosphere of most of the seats in Purvanchal is indicating that this time only the India alliance will win.
