Lok Sabha Elections: PM Modi addresses election rally in Rajasthan’s Jalore

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he is working with determination to take the country to the heights of development. Addressing an election rally organized in Jalore Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan today, he said that the Central Government has worked on many schemes to make the lives of women easier by providing them facilities, including LPG connections and the construction of toilets in homes. Mr. Modi accused the Congress of forming an opportunistic alliance and said that the country should not be handed over to such an opportunistic alliance.

Referring to the water problem in the state, he said that work has been started by the state government to resolve it. Mr. Modi also accused the previous Congress government of keeping many water projects pending. Referring to the old relationship with Rajasthan, he said that even when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he tried to solve the water problem in Rajasthan.

 

Mr. Modi also mentioned giving international recognition to coarse grains as Shree Anna for the progress of farmers. Referring to the immense potential of tourism in the Jalore-Sirohi region, he said that special attention is being given to increasing connectivity to enhance employment opportunities through tourism for the youth. Describing voting as an act of pride, he requested all the voters to vote before having refreshments.

The Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, was also present at the meeting. For the Jalore Lok Sabha seat, the BJP has fielded Lumbaram Choudhary, while Congress has given a ticket to Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Mr. Modi is also scheduled to address an election rally in Banswara this evening. Voting is scheduled to be held on April 26 in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan.
