On the last leg of campaigning for the lone Lok Sabha seat of Mizoram, BJP leader and Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the Modi Government has taken up numerous developmental projects in the northeastern states in the last ten years.

Addressing a press conference in Aizawl today,  she said that lots of infrastructure development has taken place in Mizoram in the last ten years. She also said that lots more has to be done for Mizoram.

Referring to the Free Movement Regime (FMR) issue, she said that preventive measures have been taken up considering the present situation in Myanmar.

Earlier in the day, Sitharaman visited Siaha District Headquarters and interacted with the public as part of the election campaign.

Mizoram will go for polls on April 19 where more than 8 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in 1276 polling stations to decide the political fortune of six candidates for the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat.
