In Bihar, polling is underway peacefully amid tight security in eight parliamentary constituencies of Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan, Maharajganj, Valmiki Nagar, Sheohar, Purvi Champaran and Paschimi Champaran under the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections. In rural areas, long queues of women and elderly voters being witnessed at several polling booths. People are reaching to polling booths to cast their votes early in the morning to avoid scorching heat and humidity.
The election commission is keeping vigil with webcasting facility which has been installed at several polling booths.

More than one crore 49 lakh voters of these eight parliamentary constituencies will decide the electoral fate of 86 candidates.
In Valmiki Nagar, Purvi Champaran and Paschimi Champaran parliamentary constituencies the border has been sealed along the Indo-Nepal border till the end of the polling. Inter-state border with Uttar Pradesh has also been sealed in Gopalganj and Siwan parliamentary constituencies. The political fate of several important candidates will also be decided in this phase.

BJP candidate from Purvi Champaran constituency and former union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh, JD(U) candidate from Sheohar Lovely Anand and widow of former MP Md. Shahabuddin and Independent candidate Hena Sahab from the Siwan Lok Sabha constituency are prominent candidates of this phase.

Presently all seats of this phase are held by NDA constituents JD(U), BJP and LJP. Four seats are held by the BJP and three seats by the JD(U) and one seat by LJP.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections RJD and JD(U) is Contesting four seats each, BJP has fielded candidates on three seats and Congress has fielded two candidates. One seat each is being contested by Lok Janshakti Party ( Ramvilas), and Vikas Sheel Insaan Party (VIP).
