Lok Sabha Discusses Railway Budget for 2024-25, Congress’s K Suresh Criticizes Uneven Distribution and Careless Operations

Lok Sabha today took up discussion on the Demands for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Railways for 2024-25.

 

Participating in the discussion, K Suresh of Congress claimed that the budget for Railways has been unevenly distributed. He alleged that the Indian Railways is operating with a careless attitude.

 

Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar of Trinamool Congress said that several people have lost their lives due to railway accidents in the past couple of months. She claimed that these incidents occurred due to the negligence of the Rail Ministry. She said Railways is more of a social responsibility of the government than an earning proposition.

 

Dileshwar Kamait of JD(U) said Indian Railways is progressing at a rapid pace. He praised the Rail Minister for the development that has happened in this sector in Bihar.

 

MK Raghavan of Congress and Shiv Sena’s Omprakash Bhupalsinh also participated in the debate. The discussion remained inconclusive. Later, the House was adjourned for the day.
