The Lok Sabha today congratulated Neeraj Chopra for winning the Silver medal in the javelin throw and the Indian hockey team for securing the Bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla praised these achievements as sources of inspiration for the youth.
The House also honoured Mahatma Gandhi and freedom fighters on the anniversary of the Quit India Movement. Additionally, Speaker Birla made an obituary reference to former Lok Sabha members Iqbal Ahmed Saradgi, Kamal Chaudhry, and Ramesh Rathod, who recently passed away.
