In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has invited Omar Abdullah, Leader of the Legislature Party of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, to form the new government in the J&K. This invitation follows letters of support from various political leaders, including Dr Farooq Abdullah and members of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, the CPI (M), the Aam Aadmi Party, and several independent MLAs. In his letter, Sinha expressed his pleasure at Abdullah’s unanimous election and confirmed the administration of the Oath of Office and Secrecy, scheduled for 11:30 AM on Wednesday, 16 October, at SKICC, Srinagar.
