Former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna, who passed away in Bengaluru yesterday, will be laid to rest with full state honors in Somnahalli, Maddur taluk of Mandya district. His mortal remains are being taken in a solemn procession along the Mysuru route and have now reached Somnahalli, where thousands of people have gathered along the roadside to pay their final respects.
In Somnahalli, Krishna’s birthplace, extensive arrangements have been made for the final rites. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 4 PM with all necessary preparations in place. Prominent leaders, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and several other dignitaries, are attending the funeral. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is participating as a representative of the central government.
