In Ladakh, a landslide in the Kabaddi Nalla area of Kargil caused a building to collapse in the early hours of the morning, resulting in injuries to 12 people. Indian Army, Ladakh Police and Rescue Teams swiftly initiated rescue operations, and all injured individuals were safely transported to District Hospital in Kargil for medical treatment.
Senior officials, including Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of Kargil Dr. Jaffer Akhone, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kargil Balasab Suse, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kargil, visited the site to assess the situation. They also visited the district hospital to check on the status of the injured.
Deputy Commissioner of Kargil Balasab Suse announced that a high-level committee would be formed to investigate the cause of the collapse. An enquiry is being conducted by the Additional Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil.
Meanwhile, relief efforts are underway, with the Red Cross providing assistance to those seriously injured. Traffic from the National Highway has been redirected to the bypass as rescue operations continue.
