Efforts are being made to remove the landslide debris and resume traffic on the blocked section of Karnali Highway blocked by landslides triggered by incessant rainfall. As a result, the highway remains completely blocked for traffic due to the mudslide that took place at Ismod and Gaganekhola located in Kalikot under the Surkhet-Jumla road of the highway.

The road section has been blocked several times this monsoon due to repeated landslides in Gaganekhola. Meanwhile, passengers travelling from Jumla, Kalikot, and Mugu to Surkhet, Nepalgunj, and Kathmandu remain stranded due to the landslide blocking the road.

Meanwhile, the bodies of a couple who went missing in a landslide at Dhuma in Jajarkot have been retrieved. A couple were buried by the landslide along with their home on Saturday night. The daughter of the couple, who was injured in the incident, was sent to Surkhet Province Hospital for treatment.
