In Assam, Lakshman Prasad Acharya today took oath as the new Governor of the state. The Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice Vijay Bishnoi administered the oath of office to the new Governor. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his cabinet colleagues were also present on this occasion. Mr. Acharya earlier served as the Governor of Sikkim.
