In Ladakh, in a step towards promoting winter tourism and sports, the Ladakh Ski and Snowboard Association (LSSA) team, led by senior ski coach Syed Shamsuddin, along with Assistant Director of Tourism Rehmatullah, inspected the ski slope at Namsuru.
The team found the slope highly suitable for skiing activities, catering to both beginners and advanced skiers. Local villagers, who were present during the inspection, shared insights about the area’s snow conditions, revealing that the region receives an average of 2 to 3 feet of snow annually, making it an ideal location for winter sports.
Councillor Aga Ainul Huda assured his full support to the initiative, proposing the introduction of a ski course for local youth. He stated that such efforts aim to create employment opportunities and boost the region’s potential as a winter tourism hub.
