In Ladakh, several measures are devised to initiate at village, block and district level as part of the effort to increase the voter turnout in the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Leh district.
The measures which will help in huge numbers of voters turn out have been discussed during a meeting held yesterday under the Chairmanship of Election Officer, Leh Santosh Sukhadev at Leh to brief the district nodal officers appointed for the election about their roles and responsibilities.
He instructed the Sub Divisional Magistrate and Tehsildar to conduct voter education and awareness programs at the village, block and district level and social media awareness campaign and to identify the issues that are causing low voter turnout in Leh.
Visual arts like wall art work and Painting as a part of motivational awareness for voter participation in the election process also planned as one of the measures.
The Election Officer, Leh has been also informed in the meeting that the team of statics surveillance team flying squad and surveillance team have already formed in the district to keep vigil and to ensure free and transparent election process in the district.

ADDC Sonam Nurbo also proposed to set up at least two video monitoring Rooms with computers at the district headquarter for detection monitor and effective supervision of violations of Model Code of Conduct.
