Ladakh: Kargil Vijay Diwas is being celebrated to remember sacrifice made by Indian Army soldiers

Kargil Vijay Diwas is being celebrated in different parts of Ladakh and remembering the sacrifice made by soldiers of the Indian Army.
 
On this day, the country commemorates the Indian Army’s triumph over Pakistani troops in Kargil, Ladakh, in 1999, after more than 60 days of battle. 
   
Memorial Function was organized at War Memorial Stupa in Leh town to mark the occasion.
 
Chief Executive Councillor Leh Tashi Gyalsion and all the dignitaries have laid the wreath and paid tributes to Kargil War Heroes.
 
Two Minutes of silence were also observed on the occasion. Presents were given to the war awardees and veer naris.
   
Memorial Function was organized by Tourism Department and Ex-Servicemen League, Leh.
 
Ex-Service League President Honarary Capitain Sonam Morup said ever since Ladakh become Union Territory, Kargil Vijay Diwas is being celebrated at Leh by Ex-Service League, Ladakh in collaboration with Tourism Department for a consecutive year.
 
Addressing the function, Chief Executive Councillor Leh Tashi Gyalson stressed recall of the sacrifice of soldiers of Kargil War.
 
Advisor of Ladakh UT, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Army officers of Leh based 14 Corp, Ladakh Scout Regiment, Ladakh Police, Veer Naris, and Several dignitaries attended the function and paid tributes to the War Heroes.
