The mega seven thousand Kilometer “Vayu Veer Vijeta” car rally will be flagged off from Thoise in Ladakh to mark the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF) tomorrow. The car rally will reach Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on the 29th of this month where it will culminate its journey. Earlier, on the 1st of this month, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had given a warm send-off to the rally from the National War Memorial, New Delhi.
Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Harsh Malhotra has arrived in Thoise to drive the Jimny cars to Leh to support and boost the morale of Air Warriors. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has also extended his complete support to the car rally. National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited – NHIDCl officers are participating in the launch at Leh with an interesting tagline “Yes we make highways for fighter jets too.” Uttarakhand War Memorial veterans, a major partner of the rally, are driving up to Tawang to raise awareness among the people about the glorious history of IAF.
