Khadi Exhibition at Delhi Haat INA Promotes Local Artisans and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Campaign

A special Khadi exhibition is being held at the Delhi Haat INA in the national capital. The exhibition is being held as part of the nationwide ‘Khadi Mahotsav’ to promote ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaigns as well as to enhance the income of Khadi artisans.

The display was inaugurated by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi yesterday. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Manjhi appealed to citizens to purchase more Khadi and local products. He highlighted that the broad objective of this exhibition is to strengthen the economic condition of rural artisans and traditional craftsmen.

The Khadi exhibition is an exciting platform for the country’s artisans to showcase their art. The 14-day exhibition features 157 stalls from 55 Khadi institutions and 102 village industry units representing various states, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bengal, and Jammu. Some of the most popular Khadi and village products available are sarees, handicrafts, handmade paper products, pickles, spices, soaps, shampoos, honey, and more.

Captivating the audience, artisans and craftsmen are giving live demonstrations of their diverse product range. This has provided a platform to preserve India’s indigenous craftsmanship by empowering rural artisans economically and providing them with an opportunity to display their craftsmanship. The Khadi exhibition will run until the end of this month.
