Key Asian stocks ended mixed today amid positive global cues. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 1.90 percent, Singapore’s Straits Times index jumped 1.45 percent, and Japan’s Nikkei-225 added 0.30 percent. On the other hand, China’s Shanghai Composite index declined 0.75 percent. South Korea’s Kospi ended lower with a loss of 0.24 percent.
All major European markets were trading higher. London’s FTSE hit a record high in today’s intra-day trade as the index surged over half a percent to touch 8,066.59, surpassing its previous peak in February 2023. Germany’s DAX was 0.90 percent up and France’s CAC was half a percent up when reports last came in.
