Kerala State Govt. Appoints Two-Member Committee to Address Plus One Seat Shortage in Malabar Region

The State Govt of Kerala has appointed a two member committee to look into the issue of Plus one seat shortage in the Malabar region. The decision came after the discussion held by State Educational Minister V Sivankutty with the leaders of the student’s union.The issue triggered as students from north Kerala districts found it difficult to get admission to Plus one course even after the securing top scores including full A+.The seat shortage is reported mainly in Malappuram, Palakkad and Kasargode districts said the minister. In Malappuram alone a shortage of nearly 7500 seats were reported.

 
Meanwhile, National Child Right’s Commission sought report from the State General Education department on the same. The commission directed to conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed report within 7 days.
