As Kerala is gearing for Lok Sabha elections in the second phase on 26th April, top leaders of major political parties are visiting the State for campaigning.
Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi addressed public meeting at Kattakkada in Attingal Loksabha constituency on Monday (15th April 2024) afternoon. He said that India will become world’s third largest economy in the next five years and the BJP’ s manifesto is focussing on the development of the country. Mr. Modi was campaigning for the NDA candidate and Union Minister V Muraleedharan. Earlier in the day Prime Minister addressed the public meeting at Cheruvattani in Alathur constituency. In his address Mr. Modi accused the Left government of hindering Centre’s development programmes in Kerala. He said that BJP’s priority is to ensure welfare of the common people.
It may be mentioned that Adoor Prakash is fielded by UDF while V. Joy is contesting on LDF ticket from Attingal constituency.
Meanwhile, in Wayanad Lok Sabha Constituency, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi participated in a roadshow at Batheri. Mr Rahul Gandhi said the the Wayanad constituency is being neglected as Congress is not in power in the Centre and in the State. Later in the evening he will also participate in a UDF rally at Kozhikode beach.
LDF leaders including Sitaram Yechury and Prakash Karat are also scheduled to hit the campaign trail this week.
