In Kerala, as the heavy rain continues, the Met Dept has issued a red alert in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts today. An orange alert is also issued for 8 districts. As strong winds and bad weather are expected, fishermen are warned from venturing into the sea on the Kerala coast. Authorities had urged people to be alert as heavy rainfall is expected in a short period of time which may lead to flash floods, landslides and water-logging. Due to the possibility of strong winds and heavy rain, people are urged to move to safer places and to contact the control room. Presently 223 people have been relocated to 8 camps across the state.
