In Kerala, the 16th Agricultural Science Congress will begin in Kochi this afternoon. Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala will inaugurate the four day event.

The Congress will bring together renowned agricultural economists, scientists, policymakers, farmers and entrepreneurs and provide them a platform to exchange and share their research findings, ideas and experiences.

The primary aim of the meet, organised by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, is to generate a scientific discourse around transforming India's agri-food systems into sustainable enterprises, to facilitate its benefits for future generations. Kerala is hosting the event for the first time.
