In Jammu and Kashmir, Navreh is being celebrated by the Kashmiri Pandits today. Navreh is the celebration of the first day of the Kashmiri New Year by Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits dedicate the Navreh festival to their Goddess Sharika and pay homage to her during the festival. From the early morning today, a large number of devotees are paying their obeisance at Sharika Devi Temple atop Hari Parbat in the outskirts of Srinagar city, Durga Nag Temple Srinagar, Maa Ragyana Devi Kheer Bhawani Temples at Tulmulla Ganderbal and Tikkar in Kupwara in connection with the first day of Chaitra Navratri locally known as Navreh in Kashmir. The devotees are praying to the Goddess for the well-being of mankind across the globe.
