Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that today India is working towards the goal of development by 2047. Addressing the BAPS Karyakar Suvarna Mahotsav in Ahmedabad virtually, he said that the next 25 years are crucial, not only for the country but also for every BAPS volunteer.
The Prime Minister applauded BAPS’s efforts to evacuate Indian nationals during the war in Ukraine. He said that the extensive humanitarian work by BAPS has strengthened India’s power and influence globally. Mr. Modi highlighted the contribution of BAPS in spreading the cultural and spiritual heritage of the country on a global level. Stressing the principle of seva as an intrinsic value of Indian culture, he urged the volunteers to contribute to nation-building by achieving resolutions for the betterment of society. The Prime Minister said that the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Abhiyan is being discussed all over the world. He also mentioned that to provide new opportunities to young minds, the ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ will be organized in January.
In this, the youth will share their ideas to fulfill the resolution of a developed India. He said that just a few months ago, the Bhagwan Swaminarayan temple was established in Abu Dhabi. Mr. Modi said the world has seen India’s cultural diversity and spiritual heritage through such initiatives and also made the world aware of India’s cultural glory and human generosity. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also present on the occasion. The event is being organized to felicitate the service of 1 lakh BAPS volunteers from across the globe. The year-long Karyakarta Suvarna Mahotsav to honor the service of the volunteers of Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) was inaugurated by Mahant Swami Maharaj in Surat on January 28, 2024. The grand golden jubilee celebrations will conclude today at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Nearly 1 lakh volunteers from 30 countries across the world are taking part in the event.
