Kartarpur Corridor witnesses reunion of two families

The Kartarpur Sahib corridor opened by the Indian government in Dera Baba Nanak town of Gurdaspur district for the convenience of pilgrims, is also working to reunite families separated during the tragedy of India-Pakistan partition. Several families have had the privilege of meeting their relatives during their trip. One such occasion was seen on Sunday, August 6th when a brother and sister met after decades.

A report

Kartarpur Corridor once again witnessed the reunion of two families when Gurmail Singh, a resident of Jassowal village in Ludhiana district, reached Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan and got a chance to meet his sister Sakina Bibi, a resident of Sheikhpura area of Pakistan after decades. Sharing the joy of this reunion, both of them were greeted with flowers by people present there. The members of this family were separated from each other during India-Pakistan partition.

Now social media and NGOs working to reunite such separated families have played an important role in this meeting. This occasion of meeting between the two made all the devotees present in the Gurdwara very emotional. Certainly, Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor has become an important place for reuniting separated families and even before this, many families have reunited here.
