Karnataka: BJP ally JD(S) expresses displeasure for not taking its leaders into confidence while campaigning for election

The BJP ally in Karnataka, Janata Dal (Secular)-JD(S) has expressed its displeasure for not taking its leaders into confidence while campaigning for the election. A media release issued by the JD(S) in Bengaluru on Monday says that the Core committee members of their party have expressed their unhappiness that JD(S) senior leaders H D Devegowda and H D Kumaraswamy were not invited to the Prime Minister’s Rally in Shivamogga. It further goes on to say that JD(S) has electoral muscle to ensure the victory of BJP candidates in 18 Lok Sabha seats. If three to four percent of JD(S) voters cast their vote in favour of BJP candidates, it will ensure easy victory of BJP candidates on these 18 seats. The release says that during the seat sharing talks with BJP, five seats were to be given to JD(S). But as of now only Hassan and Mandya seats are being given. The JD(S) Core Committee members have sought the Kolar seat from BJP. According to the release issued by the party, National President H D Devegowda and State President H D Kumaraswamy have assured the Core Committee members that the issue will be taken up with BJP National President J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
