In Ladakh, Kargil celebrated the 77th Independence Day at Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium Kargil, where Deputy Commissioner Kargil Shriant Suse Hoisted the National Flag and took a salute at an impressive March Past. Police Contingents, NCC, inmates of SAI Kargil, and school children took part in the March Past. Thousands of people from the adjoining villages of Kargil gathered at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang.
 
The Day was also celebrated at Drass, Sankoo, Chiktan, Zanskar, and other block headquarters, AIR Kargil, and at various Government Establishments of the district.
