Kannada actress Aparna passes away in Bengaluru

The popular Kannada actress and former Doordarshan and Akashvani presenter Aparna passed away in Bengaluru last night. The 57 years old Aparna who was popular on the film screen and television was suffering from lung Cancer. In the 1990s, Aparna started working as a radio jockey in All India Radio and a presenter in DD Chandana. She later worked in hit television serials such as Moodala Mane and Preethi Illada Mele, among others. She starred alongside matinee idol Ambareesh in the Kannada film Masanada Hoovu directed by Puttanna Kanagal. She had anchored many international and national events organised across the state. She had lent her voice to the Namma metro announcement of approaching stations. In the X post, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed his condolences. His message reads that Aparna was a multifaceted talent who was a household name.
