India started strong, quickly taking a 7-4 lead within the first few minutes and inflicted an early all-out on Scotland, surging to a 12-8 advantage.
Despite India’s efforts, Scotland maintained pressure, establishing a four-point lead at 53-48. India fought back courageously, eventually taking a slender 62-61 lead in the dying minutes. However, Scotland’s defence held firm, securing a crucial super tackle to regain their advantage.
With both teams refusing to back down, the match concluded in a thrilling 64-64 draw.
The Indians will next face Hong Hong China, while the Scotts take on Italy on 19th March.
In the women’s category, the Indian Women’s Team began its campaign on a positive note, defeating Wales, 89-18 in their opening Group D clash. In a Group E clash in the women’s category, England beat Hungary, 85-15.
India entered the tournament as the defending champion in both the Men’s and Women’s sections.
