Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju has said that the Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC which has been constituted to review the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 will submit its report to the Lok Sabha by the last day of the first week of the Winter Session of Parliament. During conversation on Social Media, Mr Rijiju said that JPC will publish the date of hearing over this matter and not only muslim but any organisation and person who is interested to contribute in a positive manner are welcome to participate during the process of working of JPC. He said, it is a very futuristic bill. The Minister said the step which has been taken by the government is intended to the welfare of the muslim community. The government had introduced the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the Budget Session of Parliament which was referred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for further scrutiny.
